KELLYS SHOW PODIUM PACE IN TASMANIA

rgp_falken400_tas09_ha4s8352Jack Daniel's Racing team-mates Todd and Rick Kelly have both shown that they have what it takes to score podium results in 2009 on a day of sensational speed but no reward for the pair at Symmons Plains Raceway in Tasmania today.
The brothers, who are racing as full-time team-mates for the first time as part of the new Kelly Racing operation this year, both showed that their new outfit, in only its fourth championship event, has the pace to match the front-runners.

Todd Kelly qualified in second position this morning, his best qualifying performance since the Oran Park in 2007 to earn the best starting position for Jack Daniel's Racing this season.

Todd Kelly grabbed the lead momentarily on the opening lap aboard the #7 Jack Daniel's Racing Holden Commodore, before settling into second position.

TODD KELLY AIMS FOR RESURGENCE IN DARWIN

Jack Daniel's Racing's Todd Kelly is aiming for a resurgence in form at the SKYCITY Triple Crown at Hidden Valley Racing in Darwin, Northern Territory this weekend.

Kelly is a two-time winner of the 'Top End' event, standing on the top step of the podium at Hidden Valley in both 2004 and 2005.

After a third place finish in New Zealand in April, the driver of the #7 Jack Daniel's Commodore has suffered two poor events in Perth and then Winton, where Kelly was taken out of contention through no fault of his own in the opening laps of both races.

While brother and Jack Daniel's Racing team-mate Rick Kelly sits in sixth place in the 2011 V8 Supercars Championship standings, Todd Kelly lies in 21st position entering Darwin, something he is keen to improve on this weekend.

Todd Kelly was a consistent performer in Darwin last year, qualifying in the top five and finishing in the top 10 on both Saturday and Sunday.

RICK KELLY LEADS LAPS BUT SOFT TYRES FADE AT SANDOWN

632918Jack Daniel's Racing driver Rick Kelly has again emphasised the speed and potential of the new team at the Norton 360 Sandown Challenge in Melbourne today.
Kelly led three laps and ran in the top five for the majority of today's 65-lap race, but the timing of a Safety Car went against the dual Bathurst winner and fading soft ‘option' tyres saw him fall down the order late in the race.

Kelly qualified in fourth position, climbing to eventually take the lead by starting on his unused soft tyres before pitting on lap 15.

Kelly switched to the harder ‘control' tyre for the middle stint of the race, planning to revert back to the soft tyres to make for a fast finish to the race.
