Jack Daniel's Racing driver Rick Kelly has again emphasised the speed and potential of the new team at the Norton 360 Sandown Challenge in Melbourne today.Kelly led three laps and ran in the top five for the majority of today's 65-lap race, but the timing of a Safety Car went against the dual Bathurst winner and fading soft ‘option' tyres saw him fall down the order late in the race.
Kelly qualified in fourth position, climbing to eventually take the lead by starting on his unused soft tyres before pitting on lap 15.
Kelly switched to the harder ‘control' tyre for the middle stint of the race, planning to revert back to the soft tyres to make for a fast finish to the race.
Jack Daniel's Racing driver Todd Kelly has stormed up the order to grab fourth place in the opening race of the Norton 360 Sandown Challenge in Melbourne today.
Jack Daniel's Racing team-mates Todd and Rick Kelly have put in a day of solid work in practice for the Norton 360 Sandown Challenge in Melbourne today.
