Our Middle Eastern adventure began on a fantastic note with us qualifying a season best third in the #7 Jack Daniel’s Racing Commodore behind the 2 Vodafone Fords.
Running in 3rd place we had great pace when I was given a controversial drive through penalty for passing the safety car. We ended the race a very disappointing 20th.
We fought back through the field to finish 6th during race 2 on Saturday morning. The car was fantastic to drive. All our hard work during the year had finally started to show.
I was turned around early in race 3 but then failed to finish after experiencing engine problems.
The overall result for the weekend was a real shame as we were fast and we were hoping to go even better than what we did at Indy. Qualifying was obviously a highlight and it’s just another indication of the hard work we have put in all year.
We haven’t had the luck but we have Tassie and Oran Park still to come and I’d love to see us figure prominently in those races.
Cheers.
