TODD KELLY FOURTH BEST HOLDEN AT ALBERT PARK

Both Kelly brothers reported progress from their Jack Daniel's Racing Holden Commodores over the course of the weekend, with both cars in just their second-ever race meeting.

Importantly, the brothers will take two straight race cars back to their Kelly Racing base in Braeside, Melbourne this evening, allowing the crew to concentrate on further development and engineering work rather than repairs.

Craig Lowndes won today's final non-championship race of the weekend ahead of Mark Winterbottom and Russell Ingall.

Round 2 of the 2009 V8 Supercar Championship Series will be staged in Hamilton, New Zealand on April 17-19.

JACK DANIEL'S RACING QUOTEBOARD:

Todd Kelly - #7 Jack Daniel's Racing Holden Commodore

"It's not where we wanted to be for an overall result after getting speared off yesterday, but both Jack Daniel's Commodore are straight," said Todd Kelly.

"Both Rick and I brought them home after each race without too much drama, which is good.

"Hopefully the boys can get a bit of a break and we can decipher the data from this weekend and go to New Zealand a bit stronger."

Rick Kelly - #15 Jack Daniel's Racing Holden Commodore

"Again we tried a few different things for today's race," said Rick Kelly.

"The two main objectives for today were to learn about the car, being a new chassis, and stay out of trouble. We managed to do both of those so from that point of view it's a successful day.

"We've moved one step forward again with the team but 14th is certainly not where we want to be. When I start back there I expect to move a little further forward, so as a driver and as a team we need to work a little harder and make that happen."
