JACK DANIEL'S RACING QUOTEBOARD
TODD KELLY - #7 Jack Daniel's Racing Holden Commodore:
"The Jack Daniel's Commodore was good today," said Todd Kelly.
"We would have liked to have had a few more laps yesterday to fine tune it for what we are doing because we are in completely unchartered territory with what we are doing with the car.
"So it wasn't perfect but it we had reasonably good car speed and more or less on par with the leaders.
"I had a fairly old tyre on one of the rears so I'm pretty happy with the progress we've made.
"We'll take what we've learned out of that race and apply it in New Zealand and I think we should start to claw our way back to where the leader's pace is and start to get a few good results this weekend.
"I think we've made some big steps with what we are trying to do to improve the car.
"I didn't see much at the first corner there. There were cars everywhere and I got stuck behind Bargs (Jason Bargwanna) as he slowed, so all the cars I passed off the line actually passed me back and I didn't want to bump into Bargs because I would have to fix a front bumper and a rear bumper out of that one! (laughs)
"So I lost a bit of ground out of that. Racing with Murph (Greg Murphy), we were running quite well and I locked the rears over the back and sailed a little bit wide and allowed him to get past. It took three or four corners for him to do it but it didn't really scratch the car at all.
"It would be good if the racing could always be like that, with a bit of respect, and we both really enjoyed it so it was not too bad a day."
RICK KELLY - #15 Jack Daniel's Racing Holden Commodore:
"All in all it was a reasonable weekend for the two Jack Daniel's Commodores," said Rick Kelly.
"They don't have many marks on them, which is good before we head to New Zealand.
"I just got turned around in that race at the start and it put us back to last.
"It was a bit of fun racing people to get back to 13th because by the end of the first lap I was about 10 second behind the second-last car, so it was good fun coming back through the field.
"There were a few monkeys there at the start but then everyone that I had a battle with coming through the field was really good and there was some good racing."
