RICK KELLY RISES TO SIXTH IN POINTS WITH SEVENTH IN QUEENSLAND

Todd fought back to be well inside the top 10 and not far behind his brother and team-mate, but a wheel gun problem at his second pit stop not only delayed his stop, but prevented the crew from changing the front left tyre on the #7 Jack Daniel's Racing Holden Commodore.

With an aging front left tyre at a track where four of the six corners are right-handers, Todd soldiered home to score a 14th place finish and gain vital championship points.

James Courtney won today's race ahead of Garth Tander and Shane Van Gisbergen.

The sixth event of the 2010 V8 Supercar Championship Series will be held in two weeks time on May 14-16 at Winton Motor Raceway in Benalla, Victoria, which is also the test track for Jack Daniel's Racing.

JACK DANIEL'S RACING QUOTEBOARD

RICK KELLY - #15 Jack Daniel's Racing Holden Commodore:

"Eleventh wasn't too bad in qualifying," said Rick Kelly.

"If we could have qualified higher, in the race we actually had the car to finish higher. So it was a bit of a bummer.

"There were cars out there that are really quick like (James) Courtney and Shane Van Gisbergen as well. But apart from a couple I think we had as good a car as a lot of guys in front of us.

"If we had qualified higher we would have finished higher because we had the pace.

"All in all, Queensland Raceway and I have never been friends as far as results go so we're pretty happy to come here, particularly given the Friday we had, and gather up some good points to move a little further forward in the championship again.

"We need to really solidly finish in the top four or five from now on to stay within a shot of a good championship position.

"The further we get into the year, the further it gets away and the further forward we have to finish. So we've all got to pull together as a team now to take that next step."

TODD KELLY - #7 Jack Daniel's Racing Holden Commodore:

"We finally started to get a handle on the car," said Todd Kelly.

"We made a change in the first top, which was not really any better, and then we kind of worked out what the car needed and changed it for the second stop.

"It would have been a really good car for the last stint but we had a really bad pit stop. It was a slow stop because the left front wouldn't come off.

"I lost a lot of time while the crew was trying to get it off and then I went back out onto the track with the same left front, which was absolutely caned from the stint before.

"So from then on I was in a fair bit of trouble. Too many things went wrong in the race. I was on the outside at the start on the first two corners and was run wide and lost a heap of positions.

"The promising thing was that the Jack Daniel's Commodore was where it needs to be."
